The Fergus Quill Trio

Fergus is a Leeds-based composer, arranger and bass player who was recipient of a Musicians’ Company Tina May Jazz Award in 2022 and has subsequently gone on to perform and record in a wide variety of contexts from big bands to electronica and free improvisation, citing influences from Sidney Bechet through Ennio Morricone to Boredoms! His adventurous new trio features Nico Widdowson on keyboards and percussionist Theo Goss.

Fergus is closely involved with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra as a regional ambassador and also composes and arranges for them. He is a Jazz North ‘New Northern’ emerging talents award winner.
